Neutrogena Skin Care Product Reviews.

Hey guys.

So today I thought I’d review some Neutrogena products I recently got. They are The Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Make-Up Remover, Rapid 2-in-1 Cleanser/ Mask, Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen and Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray.

Neutrogene products

 1. Neutrogena Oil- Free Eye Make- Up Remover.

This is my all time favourite eye makeup remover as it doesn’t irritate my eyes and removes make up so easily. You don’t have to sit there scrubbing it off it comes off within 2 wipes. It is oil free so won’t make you break out and contains aloe and cucumber that soothes the skin. At around $8 AUD it lasts around 2 and a half months if you are removing eye make up every day.

2. Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Cleanser/ Mask

This product is great because it can be used as both a face mask and cleanser depending on how long you leave it on for. It should be left on for 5 minutes if used as a face mask. I use it as a face mask once a week as I already have a different cleanser and find it keeps my skin more clearer and smoother than it was without it. It is very refreshing and you feel very invigorated once you put it on. It contains saciliyc acid and natural clay minerals to help control oil and smells sweet though I can’t put my finger on what it actually smells like- kind of like clay haha. I love the feeling of using it and at around $11 AUD it’s very good value especially if you use it once a week as a face mask as it will last you forever.

3. Ultra Sheer face sunscreen

This sunscreen is 50+ so you can be sure it will give you the protection you need. What I also love about it is that it is oil-free won’t give you pimples. You don’t feel like you have put a tub of grease on your face after using it like some sunscreens haha. It can also be used as a primer underneath your makeup to make it last longer while also keeping you protected. It is described as having a water light texture which gives you a matte look so is great for matte lovers. I highly recommend this to anyone who finds that normal sunscreen causes them to break out. At around $14 AUD it is pricier than your average sunscreen but as you’ll only be using it on your face it will last ages.

4. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray

This sunscreen is actually clear upon applying which I found to be a really cool feature about it as this is unusual for sunscreen. It is not even a little bit greasy and it is really refreshing like spraying a cooling mist on yourself. It has a lovely weightless, clean feel and it is 30+ so isn’t the highest level of protection you can get but is still better than nothing. 🙂 It is 4 hours water resistant and won’t clog pores likes its face sunscreen counterpart. I love the feel of putting this on and how it is so easy to apply, spraying sunscreen is so much easier and quicker than wiping. It is $11 AUD and is an awesome product to add to your beach bag.

My Favourite Moisturiser: Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream.

Hi Guys.

So I thought I would share with you my favourite moisturiser right now. It is called Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream. Antipodes is a New Zealand brand which uses 100% organic ingredients. Initially I was hesitant about using this as I have oily skin and was worried the nutrient rich ingredients would cause me to break out but I had nothing to worry about! It did not cause me to break out at all and if anything the blemishes on my skin cleared up more and my skin looked overall healthier. My fine lines were decreased and everything was more plumped and supple. The packaging is really nice and I love the black writing against the cream background. You definitely feel like you are treating yourself when you use it. The ingredients include avocado oil, manuka bloom and sweet almond and it smells almost good enough to eat. I would recommend this to anyone with oily/ sensitive skin and even people with dry skin though there are more richer moisturisers in their range for people with dry skin. This costs $49 AU and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with oily, sensitive skin who is worried about small, fine lines.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 Review

Hi Guys!

So today I am going to do a review of the Urban Decay Naked Palette 1. This palette has been around for ages and has been used by many celebrities and makeup artists. I had been putting off getting it due to the price and the fact I already had a similar palette but decided it was time to give in.

So firstly the packaging is great. The box is dark brown with with gold writing and displays all the colours in this sort of crushed up way on the front. The actual palette itself comes in a velvet case which exudes luxury and is just the right size- not too big not too small. Inside the case is a mirror and a double sided makeup brush. Though eye shadow is around the same size as most eye shadow palettes and will last you a fairly long time. The eye shadow brush is great and feels very high quality.

The colours from left are: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal (excuse the silly tablecloth in the photo).

Buck and Naked are suitable colours to use just above the crease. They have the ability to really pull together the whole look as they help make the colours used on the crease and brow bone look as if the are fading out instead of just appearing as block colours (which is not ideal haha).

Creep, Hustle and Darkhorse  look great on the crease and outer lid as they are the darkest colours and this helps create a greater shadow and make the eyes look larger by doing so. Darkhorse is ideal for bronze smokey eyes and hustle is perfect for a sort of mauve twist on this.

Half baked, Smog and Toasted are perfect colours to use on the middle lid. Smog is particularly glamorous and toasted is is very feminine and beautiful and perfect for a rose gold smokey eye.

Virgin is the best colour to use just below the brow bone as it is the lightest and creates a highlight and Sin is gorgeous on the inner lid as a way to blend the mid colour and once again to create a rose- gold eye shadow look.

This palette has a lot of great colours which can be used for really toned down, neutral looks but also sexy, smouldering looks. It is suitable for both night time and day time. 🙂

Instead of having a selection of dark browns which you would expect from this kind of palette it has a dark mauve, greeny-gold and a dark blue. This is great if you already own a kind of neutral, goldy- brown eye shadow palette like me. The blues in this palette are perfect as they are glam but not too over the top.

All the colours compliment one another beautifully and blend quite easily. Though I did find myself having to re-dip the brush in the pan quite a few times to get the vibrance I wanted. Personally I prefer the Too Faced Chocolate Bar which is a little cheaper and has similar colours. This is because I found the colours to be slightly more pigmented. Regardless I am still really happy with.

Here is a look I did using this image from Google. I found this really helpful when first using the palette as I find new eye shadow palettes a bit like driving a new car- it takes a while to get a feel for it and figure out which colours look best together.

It’s not perfect but this was my first go so time using the palette so go easy on me. 😛

I should also mention that their is 4 free eye primer potion samples you get with the palette as everyone loves a good freebie. I’ve only used the nude matte one called Eden so far but I love it as it goes on so smoothly and definitely helps eye shadow looks last longer.

Verdict: This palette is great for beginners as it has a lot of light colours which you can use first and then work your way up to the darker colours. It has great colours for both night time and day time and you will be satisfied by the looks you can create. The Urban Decay Naked Palette its pricey at $81 AU dollars from Mecca Maxima and while I love it I do feel that there are other palettes out there which are slightly better (only slightly!) and cheaper.

October Hits And Misses.

Hello everyone. I didn’t buy a lot this month in terms of makeup because I wanted to try a few high end things so the majority of my money was spent on those haha. Usually I buy drug store makeup but this month I promised myself I would try a few more high end things as I had seen many other bloggers rave about the quality of high end makeup. So obviously I had to give some a try. 🙂

OCTOBER makeup

Too Faced Chocoloate bar: I like this palette. It has a good selection of colours, smells nice and the blendability is pretty good. A lot of reviews say all the colours work together but I  don’t think this is the case. But nonetheless there are still a lot of really great colours which compliment each other and many great looks you can create. There are many neutrals for the day time and darker colours for the night time as well as a few playful pops of colour here and there which you wouldn’t expect from a palette such as this. I love the packaging and  how it comes in a chocolate wrapper which is so cute. It also smells exactly like chocolate but it isn’t too overpowering. It is a good palette and I especially like the rose gold colour called “marzipan”. Nars Blush in Deep Throat: I was originally going to get this blush in Orgasm but opted for Deep Throat as it was Orgasm was a bit too shimmery. Deep Throat is thought of as a more subdued version of orgasm, suitable for day time and those with fair skin. It is also slightly pinker than Orgasm while Orgasm is peachier. It lasts for ages on the skin and definitely has that high end look and feel you want from a blush at this price. It is a natural looking, beautiful blush and I am very happy I bought it. To see it used in a makeup look click hereRating: 9/10

Sportsgirl Pout About It Lipstick in Duchess: I’ve bought Sportgirl lipsticks before and always like them so had no qualms about buying this one. It has a beautiful sheen, lovely feel and lasts relatively long- about 2 hours. I like the colour which is very girly and suited for spring or just the day time in general. It is a cheap lipstick and I really feel like sportgirl lipsticks are underrated and are great value for money. To see me use it in a makeup look click here. Rating: 8.5/10

E.l.f eye primer: I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one but gave it a try anyway as I was after a cheap eye primer. To be honest it’s not great, it causes some creasing but I find it better than using concealer which was what I was previously using so it isn’t a complete waste of money. This is definitely a product where you get what you pay for, at quite an inexpensive price the results aren’t amazing. It also has a liner sealer on the other side which you use to dip into shadow when you want to use it for lining the eye. This also only works to a certain extent and is not amazing. The only other eye primer I have tried was the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Eye Primer which gave great results. Rating: 6/10

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer in Ivory: This concealer is nice at a relatively inexpensive price. The one I got is very pale and perfectly matches my skin tone. I could see it being used for contouring as well as covering blemishes. It also like how it is a stick as it allows for ease in application.
