Australis, Napoleon Perdis and IT Cosmetics Contour Kit Reviews.

So today I am going to review three contour kits- The Australis AC ON TOUR contour kit, IT Cosmetics My Sculpted Face contour kit and Napoleon Perdics Ultimate Contour Palette.

Australis AC ON TOUR contour kit.

This contour kit is $16.95 from Priceline and is dubbed by some as a cheaper dupe to the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. Unfortunately for me I found it did not meet these expectations. I found some of the browns to be quite muddy and unflattering. As well as this the highlighters were not very pigmented and did not stay on for long. The furthest brown to the right, below the darkest pink highlighter is my favourite bronzer as it does not look quite as muddy as the rest. You definitely have to be careful when putting the product on the brush and to only use a very small amount as too much can end up looking far too dark.

IT Cosmetics My Sculpted Face contour kit.

This contour kit was around $55 from Sephora and I definitely do think it is good. The lady in store suggested it to me as a good palette for fair people so I thought it would be a suitable choice. The 2nd darkest bronzer is definitely my favourite as it is not too dark or light. I have used the darkest one but would suggest using it very sparsely as it is quite dark and a little product goes a long way. I think the darkest one is more suited to olive skin. The two lightest browns are very light and do not show up much on my skin I only really use them when I’ve accidentally put too much highlighter on and need to tone it down or help face it out. The ‘pearlescent’ highlighter to the right is my favourite as it gives a really flattering glow but the other one I don’t really find much use for and is more or less a translucent powder as it does not show up much on my skin. The colours I do like stay on the whole light and do have good pigmentation. Overall I like this contour kit but I am not in LOVE with it as I only use one of the browns and one highlighter really regularly. Still, I am happy I have it as part of my collection.

Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour Palette

While this contour kit is small it definitely is brilliant! This is my favourite contour palette and the highlighter is the best highlighter I have ever used by far. My friends also own it and say the same thing. It really gives you that perfect, subtle glow you want from a highlighter. It is also very build able to give a more glam, noticeable look as well. The bronzer is great and is good for both night and day makeup. The blush is lovely and is kind of this pink- peach, warm colour that it very flattering to many skin tones. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has fair- medium skin and though it is quite pricey at $65 it is definitely worth it. There is only three colours but I find that that is all you need and the size is GREAT for travelling and fitting in a small bag. My only issue is that I wish there was a bit more product in it. As you can see from the photos I have almost gone through it!

September Hits And Misses.

10717964_793564977349440_660311324_n

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner in Black: I love this eye liner! It’ is so easy to use especially if you are doing a winged eye liner and has an intense black finish. You can see me wearing it here. Rating: 9/ 10

Bourjois Liner Effect Mascara: Well this product will never be a miss with me as I buy it all the time. It is my all time favourite mascara and it separates lashes perfectly and provides so much length and volume. Rating: 9.5/10

Essence Glossy Lib Balm in Strawberry Cheesecake: Very yummy and moisturising. It has a slightly pink sheen and is not too sticky. Rating: 8/10

Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss in Babydoll’s Favourite: The Colour’s nice but it’s too sticky. The applicator is also too small so you have to dip the brush into the tube multiple times to get enough gloss and who’s got time for that. Rating: 5/10

Essence Silky Touch Blush in Adorable: I bought this as I really wanted a pink blush but only had some spare change. I did not expect it to work so well and it provides a very pretty pink glow. It isn’t amazing but for what you are paying it is still good. You can see me wearing it here. Rating: 7/10

Models Prefer Magic Multi Purpose Pencil in Nude: Let me tell you this pencil isn’t magic. It markets itself as being a mutli purpose lip liner, concealer and highlighter and doesn’t do any very well. Rating: 5/ 10

Ardell Lash Adhesive: If you are like me and get yourself into a mess every time you try to apply glue to your false lashes then buy this glue! It has a brush so it is far easier to apply than using a squeezable tube and it is also clear so it’s no biggy if it gets in the wrong places. It is also quite big for a lash adhesive and will last you ages. Rating: 8.5/10

Red Cherry Lashes in DW: These lashes look incredibly naturally and blend in perfectly with my natural lashes. Each lash is a different length and it is made out of human hair so this is why. The base of them is also clear so you do not see the line of where they begin and end when you put them on. They are relatively cheap and you can buy them on crushcosmetics.com.au and ebay. They are also easier to apply than other lashes as they fit in perfectly with the shape of your lid. You can see me wearing them here. Rating: 10/10

Natio Cream Eye Shadow in Marshmallow: I don’t like this eye shadow, the colour looks gorgeous in the pack but it does not go on evenly and comes off really quickly. I only bought it for $5 though so I’m not annoyed haha. Rating: 5/10

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray: I originally only bought this so it would make my makeup last longer but wow I actually noticed a visible difference the minute I sprayed it on. I put it on with my BB cream and it reduced the shine immediately giving me more of a matte glow. As for extending the time of your makeup it certainly works very well. I would recommend this for someone who maybe has oily skin and does not like how makeup becomes shiny. It makes foundation look more even and glowy and actually makes makeup look more high end. There is also a dewy setting spray NYX has which would be good for dry skin or if your makeup looks too flat. Rating: 9/10

Natio BB cream in Fair: This BB cream definitely achieves what it sets out to do which is provide light coverage, give sun protection and moisturise skin without being too oily. The colour perfectly matched my skin tone and it does not feel too heavy. It is a great price at $15 but it did give me some unwanted shine and does not give me an amazing glow which I was expecting from other peoples reviews. It looked a lot better when NYX setting spray is sprayed on after. I don’t know if you’ll be able to notice the difference as much in photos as it’s something which shows up better in real life but I included them anyway. Rating: 7.5/10

With only the Natio BB cream on:

Top 5 Beauty Products Under $5.

Got some spare change and don’t know what to spend it on? Here are my top 5 beauty products of all time under $5 at Priceline.

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser ($3.99)– This moisturiser is great for oily skin and very gentle. It doesn’t irritate the skin like other inexpensive moisturisers and lasts a long time.

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow ($4.50)– These colours are amazing and really do glam up any look. They put the smoulder in any smokey eye and they really makes your eyes pop. A good tip is to wet your eye shadow brush before dipping it into the eye shadow to give it more of a sheen.

Essence Strawberry Cheescake Lip Gloss ($1.80)– This lip gloss isn’t too gooey and doesn’t set on top of the lips like other cheap lip glosses. It is very nourishing and I find it similar to Lucas’ Paw Paw Ointment except yummier.

Savvy Nourishing Lip Liner in Natural and Brick ($4.99)– Natural and Brick are the only colours I own so I can’t comment on the other colours. Brick goes well with a bombshell red  lipstick and natural is very versatile and goes well with any light pink or nude lipstick. Both are easy to blend.

Maybelline Color Show Stripped Nude Nail Polish in Take it off ($2.97)–  Take it off (colour 226) is my favourite nail polish of all time as it is simply the perfect shade of nude. It looks very classy and there are other shades of nude in the range as well as other colours. It has a beautiful finish and lasts about 4 days.

Revlon Volumize False Lashes Starter Kit Review.

10660536_778098558896082_1133702901_n

Hi guys!

Today I am going to be reviewing the Revlon volumize false lashes starter kit, theres me with them on above (with my favourite nude lipstick!) Heres what it looks like in the package when you buy it.

Revlon package

After several failed attempts at applying false eye lashes with my finger and getting glue everywhere I realized that I needed an eyelash applicator. I was torn between the Glam Eyes and Revlon one at Priceline but decided on the Revlon one as it came with lashes as well. The applicator also looked easier to use than the Glam Eyes one which was large and clunky.

The applicator is very easy to use and fits in with the curve of the lash allowing you to hold it against your lid with the right amount of pressure so it sticks. Another good thing about the applicator is your fingers aren’t getting in the way while you’re applying the lash so you can see what you are doing. The glue is much better than any other glue I’ve tried as it doesn’t go everywhere when you squeeze it out alowing for more control. The lashes are very good but are definitely the kind you need to wear with eyeshadow to balance out the look, though they look ok with only winged eyeliner. Overall I like them better than other brands I’ve used such as Napoleon Perdis. They’re just the right size if you’re creating a nice smokey eye and the applicator definitely makes applying easier. Overall this is a nice pack to buy if you’ve never applied falsies before or are really struglling with them. Heres what the applicator looks like.

Heres a before and after of what my eyelashes look liked:

before revlon lashes

after revlon lashes

So as you can see they look alot bigger and don’t look too fake (hopefully!)

Heres what they look like before a smokey eye. Personally I like it better with eye shadow of some kind as it balances them out but I’m sure everyone has their own preference when applying false eyelashes.

The photo at the top shows what it looks like with smokey eyeshadow and the Face of Australia Lip Quench Lipstick in Iced Almond.

Let me know what you think by using the comment button on the side and if there are any falsies you guys like 🙂

Face Of Australia High Definition Brow Kit Review.

Hi guys!

As you have probably guessed this is my first post which I’m really excited about. For my first post I am going to review the Face of Australia HD Brow Kit, here’s what it looks like:

599001_normalimages

I have always struggled to find a shade thats just right for my eyebrows as I don’t like eyebrows that are too dark as it clashes with my light skin. I have to say that the lightest colour in the pack is a winner for me! It also comes with tweezers, a brush, a darker colour and brow wax which keeps the eyebrows in place and also creates a darker more refined look. Personally I don’t like the wax but other people out there might enjoy it. The brush is ok and I find the tweezers difficult to use but thats ok as I didn’t buy it for the tweezers anyway. For just under $10 from priceline its worth it if your looking for a light colour without the orange tinge that are in alot of lighter eyebrow products. The darker colour is also really good as I looked up before and afters online of people using the darker shade and it looks good. I have attached some before and after shots below for you guys to look at!
