Neutrogena Skin Care Product Reviews.

Hey guys.

So today I thought I’d review some Neutrogena products I recently got. They are The Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Make-Up Remover, Rapid 2-in-1 Cleanser/ Mask, Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen and Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray.

Neutrogene products

 1. Neutrogena Oil- Free Eye Make- Up Remover.

This is my all time favourite eye makeup remover as it doesn’t irritate my eyes and removes make up so easily. You don’t have to sit there scrubbing it off it comes off within 2 wipes. It is oil free so won’t make you break out and contains aloe and cucumber that soothes the skin. At around $8 AUD it lasts around 2 and a half months if you are removing eye make up every day.

2. Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Cleanser/ Mask

This product is great because it can be used as both a face mask and cleanser depending on how long you leave it on for. It should be left on for 5 minutes if used as a face mask. I use it as a face mask once a week as I already have a different cleanser and find it keeps my skin more clearer and smoother than it was without it. It is very refreshing and you feel very invigorated once you put it on. It contains saciliyc acid and natural clay minerals to help control oil and smells sweet though I can’t put my finger on what it actually smells like- kind of like clay haha. I love the feeling of using it and at around $11 AUD it’s very good value especially if you use it once a week as a face mask as it will last you forever.

3. Ultra Sheer face sunscreen

This sunscreen is 50+ so you can be sure it will give you the protection you need. What I also love about it is that it is oil-free won’t give you pimples. You don’t feel like you have put a tub of grease on your face after using it like some sunscreens haha. It can also be used as a primer underneath your makeup to make it last longer while also keeping you protected. It is described as having a water light texture which gives you a matte look so is great for matte lovers. I highly recommend this to anyone who finds that normal sunscreen causes them to break out. At around $14 AUD it is pricier than your average sunscreen but as you’ll only be using it on your face it will last ages.

4. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray

This sunscreen is actually clear upon applying which I found to be a really cool feature about it as this is unusual for sunscreen. It is not even a little bit greasy and it is really refreshing like spraying a cooling mist on yourself. It has a lovely weightless, clean feel and it is 30+ so isn’t the highest level of protection you can get but is still better than nothing. 🙂 It is 4 hours water resistant and won’t clog pores likes its face sunscreen counterpart. I love the feel of putting this on and how it is so easy to apply, spraying sunscreen is so much easier and quicker than wiping. It is $11 AUD and is an awesome product to add to your beach bag.

My New Lip Products.

Hello. 🙂

I haven’t written a post in a while as I have been really busy but things have finally calmed down and I’ve had the strong urge to write about beauty. It’s been months so I have a lot of new beauty purchases. I thought I’d just do lip products to start off as I’ve been very into these lately and don’t want to cram too much into one post. 🙂

Lip products main image blog

Lime Crime lipstick in Babette- This lipstick is super wearable and very fun. I would describe it as a peach nude unlike other nudes I’ve seen seen. While it maintains its uniqueness which Lime Crime is known for it isn’t too out there so you can where comfortable wear it anywhere. This lipstick is quite long lasting, though it sometimes need reapplying after you eat or drink. It is very opaque and matte but still gives your lips a healthy shine. If worn everyday it could be a bit drying but apart from this I really like it. 8/10

Lime Crime lipstick in Geradium- This lipstick is described by many reviewers as bright pink while still being quite wearable. But being a fan of nudes and more subdued colours there have only been a handful of occasions I have worn it. It is truly a beautiful, vibrant colour and less drying than Babette for some reason. It also lasts longer due to its high pigmentation and lasts me approximately 4 hours even through drinking and eating. It is slightly less drying then Babette. I would suggest this to anyone who likes long lasting, bright colours and who likes to stand out from the crowd. 7.5/10

Lime crime Retrofuturist- Wow. This colour is very bright and definitely not for the faint of heart. It is very pigmented and long wearing. For me it lasts the whole night and then some when I go out. I find it slightly more moisturising than Babette just like Geradium. For me it is close to a true red which leans slightly towards the pink side and I think it would flatter most skin tones. It has this nice sheen to it and makes lips look beautifully plump. I’ve only worn it once but if you are a lover of reds and once again standing out from the crowd I would definitely recommend this. 8/10

Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Etcetera- This is the nude lip liner in the Pro Longwear collection and is described as a creamy beige. It is very long wearing and exceeds any other lip liner I’ve owned in terms of how long it lasts. I do find it to be slightly orange when put with certain lipsticks but with brown nude lipsticks it looks great as this seems to blend in while toning down the orange. It does look a bit too orange with my cream and pink nudes though. On its own it looks really nice. This lasts through eating and drinking and makes any lipstick stay longer and look nicer (provided it’s the right colour) when applied underneath. Definitely a good one for the collection if you’re into brown nudes. 8/10

etcetera liner

Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Staunchly Stylish- Wow. I love this colour. This lip liner ticks all the boxes. It is long lasting, feels comfortable and is the perfect lip liner for many lipstick colours, including pinks, browns, nudes and maroons. I could even see it working for most reds though haven’t tried this yet. I am very glad I bought this and I would definitely recommend this as the best colour to get from the pro long wear range as it is so versatile. You can wear it on its own or all over the lips. I find it’s slightly more shinier and moisturising than the etcetera one as well and it seems to last just as long. The Pro Longwear lip pencils are a bit pricey but for what you’re getting it’s worth it. 9.5/10

Staunchly stylish liner

Mac Lipstick in Brave- I love this colour. I got this lipstick because I was trying to copy the whole Kylie Jenner lip trend which is popular right now (I know it’s been done a million times but I can’t help but love it) and I really like it. It is a mauve colour on the lips though looks more nude pink on the stick. It shows up differently on peoples lips because when I looked it up on google and instagram it was almost brown on some while nearly plum on others. On mine it leans toward the purple, pink side. It compliments the staunchly stylish lip liner well, is long lasting, moisturising and feels comfortable. 8.5/10

Brave lipstick

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream in Mil-a-no- This feels weird to put on. It is very matte, as it states. But it is so dry it almost peels off if you put too much on so therefore it is not buildable. Also when licking your lips and talking it comes off in patches so looks really unattractive. A light amount on top of lips which are lined all over can look nice but I would of liked to be able to create a more oqaque colour by building it and for it to atleast come off evenly. The colour and smell is nice but that’s about all. I won’t be buying it again. 4/10

velourlips

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub- Mmm this tastes good you can eat it and guess what you can! Made of only castor sugar, jojoba oil, flavour and colour, the directions say to rub it between your lips and lick it off. There are plenty of home made recipes for lip scrubs however such as honey and sugar. I’m still undecided over whether exfoliating your lips is really a necessity and even works, but it is a nice tasting product nonetheless. 7/10

Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm- This smells delicious just like all Lush products. It is very moisturising and is a treat to put on however it is very difficult to open and close. The packaging needs to be fixed, or maybe it’s just mine but I find myself struggling for minutes at a time trying to get the lid off and having to get a knife to pry it open at times. This is kind of annoying when all you want to do is apply lip balm and for this I probably wouldn’t buy it again and will just stick with my paw paw ointment. I also find paw paw to be slightly more moisturising. 6.5/10

October Hits And Misses.

Hello everyone. I didn’t buy a lot this month in terms of makeup because I wanted to try a few high end things so the majority of my money was spent on those haha. Usually I buy drug store makeup but this month I promised myself I would try a few more high end things as I had seen many other bloggers rave about the quality of high end makeup. So obviously I had to give some a try. 🙂

OCTOBER makeup

Too Faced Chocoloate bar: I like this palette. It has a good selection of colours, smells nice and the blendability is pretty good. A lot of reviews say all the colours work together but I  don’t think this is the case. But nonetheless there are still a lot of really great colours which compliment each other and many great looks you can create. There are many neutrals for the day time and darker colours for the night time as well as a few playful pops of colour here and there which you wouldn’t expect from a palette such as this. I love the packaging and  how it comes in a chocolate wrapper which is so cute. It also smells exactly like chocolate but it isn’t too overpowering. It is a good palette and I especially like the rose gold colour called “marzipan”. To see them used in makeup looks click here and here. Rating: 8.5/10

Nars Blush in Deep Throat: I was originally going to get this blush in Orgasm but opted for Deep Throat as it was Orgasm was a bit too shimmery. Deep Throat is thought of as a more subdued version of orgasm, suitable for day time and those with fair skin. It is also slightly pinker than Orgasm while Orgasm is peachier. It lasts for ages on the skin and definitely has that high end look and feel you want from a blush at this price. It is a natural looking, beautiful blush and I am very happy I bought it. To see it used in a makeup look click here. Rating: 9/10

Sportsgirl Pout About It Lipstick in Duchess: I’ve bought Sportgirl lipsticks before and always like them so had no qualms about buying this one. It has a beautiful sheen, lovely feel and lasts relatively long- about 2 hours. I like the colour which is very girly and suited for spring or just the day time in general. It is a cheap lipstick and I really feel like sportgirl lipsticks are underrated and are great value for money. To see me use it in a makeup look click here. Rating: 8.5/10

E.l.f eye primer: I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one but gave it a try anyway as I was after a cheap eye primer. To be honest it’s not great, it causes some creasing but I find it better than using concealer which was what I was previously using so it isn’t a complete waste of money. This is definitely a product where you get what you pay for, at quite an inexpensive price the results aren’t amazing. It also has a liner sealer on the other side which you use to dip into shadow when you want to use it for lining the eye. This also only works to a certain extent and is not amazing. The only other eye primer I have tried was the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Eye Primer which gave great results. Rating: 6/10

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer in Ivory: This concealer is nice at a relatively inexpensive price. The one I got is very pale and perfectly matches my skin tone. I could see it being used for contouring as well as covering blemishes. It also like how it is a stick as it allows for ease in application. September Hits And Misses.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner in Black: I love this eye liner! It’ is so easy to use especially if you are doing a winged eye liner and has an intense black finish. You can see me wearing it here. Rating: 9/ 10

Bourjois Liner Effect Mascara: Well this product will never be a miss with me as I buy it all the time. It is my all time favourite mascara and it separates lashes perfectly and provides so much length and volume. Rating: 9.5/10

Essence Glossy Lib Balm in Strawberry Cheesecake: Very yummy and moisturising. It has a slightly pink sheen and is not too sticky. Rating: 8/10

Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss in Babydoll’s Favourite: The Colour’s nice but it’s too sticky. The applicator is also too small so you have to dip the brush into the tube multiple times to get enough gloss and who’s got time for that. Rating: 5/10

Essence Silky Touch Blush in Adorable: I bought this as I really wanted a pink blush but only had some spare change. I did not expect it to work so well and it provides a very pretty pink glow. It isn’t amazing but for what you are paying it is still good. You can see me wearing it here. Rating: 7/10

Models Prefer Magic Multi Purpose Pencil in Nude: Let me tell you this pencil isn’t magic. It markets itself as being a mutli purpose lip liner, concealer and highlighter and doesn’t do any very well. Rating: 5/ 10

Ardell Lash Adhesive: If you are like me and get yourself into a mess every time you try to apply glue to your false lashes then buy this glue! It has a brush so it is far easier to apply than using a squeezable tube and it is also clear so it’s no biggy if it gets in the wrong places. It is also quite big for a lash adhesive and will last you ages. Rating: 8.5/10

Red Cherry Lashes in DW: These lashes look incredibly naturally and blend in perfectly with my natural lashes. Each lash is a different length and it is made out of human hair so this is why. The base of them is also clear so you do not see the line of where they begin and end when you put them on. They are relatively cheap and you can buy them on crushcosmetics.com.au and ebay. They are also easier to apply than other lashes as they fit in perfectly with the shape of your lid. You can see me wearing them here. Rating: 10/10

Natio Cream Eye Shadow in Marshmallow: I don’t like this eye shadow, the colour looks gorgeous in the pack but it does not go on evenly and comes off really quickly. I only bought it for $5 though so I’m not annoyed haha. Rating: 5/10

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray: I originally only bought this so it would make my makeup last longer but wow I actually noticed a visible difference the minute I sprayed it on. I put it on with my BB cream and it reduced the shine immediately giving me more of a matte glow. As for extending the time of your makeup it certainly works very well. I would recommend this for someone who maybe has oily skin and does not like how makeup becomes shiny. It makes foundation look more even and glowy and actually makes makeup look more high end. There is also a dewy setting spray NYX has which would be good for dry skin or if your makeup looks too flat. Rating: 9/10

Natio BB cream in Fair: This BB cream definitely achieves what it sets out to do which is provide light coverage, give sun protection and moisturise skin without being too oily. The colour perfectly matched my skin tone and it does not feel too heavy. It is a great price at $15 but it did give me some unwanted shine and does not give me an amazing glow which I was expecting from other peoples reviews. It looked a lot better when NYX setting spray is sprayed on after. I don’t know if you’ll be able to notice the difference as much in photos as it’s something which shows up better in real life but I included them anyway. Rating: 7.5/10

Blush And Bronzer Reviews.

Hey guys!

I just bought the Napoleon Perdis Set Contour and Highlight Palette so I thought I would do a review of that as well as a mini review of the Revlon PhotoReady Bronzer and Natio Blush which I have owned for a while and really like.

Napoleon Perdis Highlight and Contour Palette: 6/10

The NP set Highlight and Contour Palette is from the NP set range which can be found in Myer, Target and stand alone NP set stores. NP set is a more affordable range from Napoleon Perdis which is cheaper than their high end, premium range which is available in their stores and Myer. Here’s what the palette looks like.

Napoleon contour kit opened

 NP set contour kit closed

The contour palette is very cute and I like that it comes with four colours to play with. It is however difficult to open and if you open it too fast the product dislodges and gets everywhere. This is a downside for me as when I am getting ready quickly I tend to be a bit rough with the products I use. For those that dont understand what I mean I’ve attached a photo below.

NP contour kit dislodged

In the photos on the website it looks like a pressed powder but is more of a loose powder when actually start to use it. This photo above is from only one use. The blush is too dark for me but quite easy to blend. The bronzer is very dark which is usual for contouring bronzers however I would say that it is till too dark for me and I have to use my brush very lightly when using it. I found myself needing to powder on some foundation over the top at times to lighten the colour up. The white highlighter you can barely notice but the pink highlighter ties the look together very well and perhaps the only colour that suited my skin tone. Overall I would say this is suited for medium skin not fair skin like myself. There is only one contour palette available in the entire NP set range so it obviously is not going to suit all skin tones. I wish I had swatched it before I bought it. I certainly still like the NP set range but would not purchase it again.

How the Bronzer looks:

Wearing: Face of Australia Brow powder, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Candy, Savvy Noruishing Lip Liner in Bare, Revlon beyond Natural Highlighter, Estee Lauder Double Wear Mineral Foundation, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and of course the NP set Highlight and Contour Palette.

Revlon PhotoReady Bronzed and Chic: 8.5/10

10719480_795230693849535_313510709_n

This Bronzer is great because it comes with four colours and you can switch different colours depending on the occassion or how tanned you are. The lightest colour is good for daytime and gives a suitable glow while the darkest colour is more dramatic and great for night time. I would say it would suit all fair to medium skin tones but definitely not suited to those with darker skin. I love this bronzer as it is easy to work with and you get a lot of product in it. I have owned it for a year, use it everyday and still have product left.

Natio Blush in Rosewood: 9/10

10726653_795230737182864_1365967123_n

This Blush is Beautiful! At around $10 (AUD) I wasn’t expecting much but I was delighted at the results. It is so natural and gives a beautiful, rosey glow. I would recommend this for fair skin and it may suit medium skin but I would definitely try it before you buy it. There are many flattering shades in the range but this is my favourite by far. It is very compact and you could take it travelling. This also lasts for ages. I do find I have to dip the brush into the pan a couple more times than my other blushes but I don’t mind this as I tend to be heavy handed when I’m in a rush. I would definitely recommend this if you are after an affordable blush but are short on cash.

Thanks for reading. 🙂
